Breakin' Hearts

Wilkins Kennedy is proud to sponsor Breakin’ Hearts, a talented award
winning breakdance crew of students from Highworth Grammar School in
Kent.
In 2009, Ashford office accountancy partner Mike Swan received a letter
and sample DVD from the local school and he and Business Development
Manager, Kim Farrington contacted them to offer support.
The crew consists of twelve girls aged from 13-18, and the team has
competed in both regional and national dance competitions.
Sony Ericsson selected Breakin’ Hearts for a promotional campaign and
dancer Ajay “BBoy AJ” Jackson from the Soul Mavericks dance crew has
since become their mentor and helped to train the team.
The crew won the 2009 London Breakin’ Battle competition and also won Best
Showcase and were overall Southern Heat winners in the Southern qualifiers
in Esher in Surrey earlier this year.
They came 2nd in the TruSkool Finals 2010, the National Schools Breakdance
Battle at Stratford Circus in London, endorsed by the Sony Ericsson UK BBoy
Championships.

The team runs a successful community outreach programme, giving day
intensive instruction at local primary schools.
They have also launched “Breakin’ Edge”, a weeklong summer school dance
programme held at the school, open to anyone aged between 10 and 18.
