James is a VAT Director at Wilkins Kennedy and is responsible for leading and developing the firm’s VAT service.
James is experienced in insurance-related VAT matters and has direct knowledge of the insurance sector where he worked as an accountant for several years. More recently, he has advised sector clients on matters such as partial exemption, the law relating to VAT treatment of insurance intermediary services, IPT and the implications of cross-border trading structures.
Prior to joining Wilkins Kennedy, James worked for a number of years in ‘Big 4’ VAT practices and the in-house tax departments of large corporates.
James has written for publications such as International Tax Planning and Tolley’s VAT Business by Business Guide. He is a member of the VAT Practitioners Group.
