150 Kent business people attend Wilkins Kennedy 'Moving Forward in Kent 2011' evening drinks reception at Leeds Castle

On Wednesday 16th February 2011, over 150 business people from Kent and the surrounding areas attended the Wilkins Kennedy “Moving Forward in Kent 2011” drinks reception at Fairfax Hall, Leeds Castle.

The drinks reception networking evening was held by leading Kent Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers Wilkins Kennedy, in conjunction with Innovation & Growth, Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce, Locate in Kent and the IoD.

The guests enjoyed a delicious selection of canapés and drinks in the stunning backdrop of Fairfax Hall, and networked with business people from around the region.

Speakers Phil Eckersley, Agent for the South East and East Anglia from the Bank of England, and Phil Beavan, Portfolio Director from Innovation & Growth, gave two short presentations offering an interesting general overview and financial insight into the future of business across the county.

Hugh Summerfield, Managing Partner of the Ashford office, says, “ The Kent region is a fantastic place to carry out business, and the huge turnout at this event has shown that business people are forward thinking and enthusiastic about the future, even in difficult economic times.”

Bob Butterfield, Managing Partner of the Orpington office, adds, “Kent has an incredibly spirited business community and we hosted this important event to encourage networking and expose business leaders to new regional support and advice. Businesses we are speaking to are showing caution but enthusiasm for the coming year and looking towards a brighter future.”
