Everest climber Lee Farmer inspires at Wilkins Kennedy seminar
On Wednesday 20th May, Berkshire entrepreneur Lee Farmer, along with his trusty shop dummy “Bonnington” dressed in high altitude clothing, came to Reading at the invitation of Wilkins Kennedy Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors. He entertained staff and clients with exciting tales of his Everest climb undertaken in the spring of 2008 to raise funds for the National Society for Epilepsy.
Billed as “the ordinary man achieving extraordinary things”, Lee, the 180th Briton to have summited Everest, spoke in front of 50 guests about his inspiring life and achievements, expeditions to Antarctica, Mt Cho Oyu, Mt Kenya and Kilimanjaro to name but a few. The presentation included slides showing some of the amazing highlights and magnificent scenery from the Everest expedition.
John Kirkpatrick, Partner at the Wilkins Kennedy Reading office says, “Hearing about Lee Farmer’s Everest expedition was inspirational and informative even more so in a week where Sir Ranulph Fiennes successfully completed his Everest climb. We wish Lee all the best for future expeditions the first of which will be in Argentina in December”.
