Top 25 accountancy firm Wilkins Kennedy to headline sponsor the Stockbridge 10K race and 2K Fun Run
Top 25 UK accountancy and business advisory firm Wilkins Kennedy is to sponsor the inaugural Wilkins Kennedy Stockbridge 10K and 2K Fun Run on Saturday 17th September 2011 at 10am, with proceeds to benefit the Stockbridge Pre-School and the Friends of St. Peters Church Stockbridge charity.
The two fundraising races have been organised by a team of volunteers from the Pre-School and members of the Friends of St. Peters Stockbridge charity, and are being held under UK Athletics rules.
The 10K route starts from Stockbridge School and winds around the beautiful Test Valley on both quiet roads and trails, following the historic route of the old watercress lines for steam engines taking produce to Romsey.
The event has already attracted the support of many individuals and local businesses in and around the Stockbridge area; many of which have generously donated a variety of free discount vouchers on their products and services for all the race entrants’ goody bags.
Ian Talbot, Managing Partner at the Wilkins Kennedy Winchester and Romsey office, says: “We are delighted to be sponsoring the very first Wilkins Kennedy Stockbridge 10K race, and we hope this event will garner maximum support from individuals and businesses across the region, benefitting two extremely worthy causes in the heart of our local community.”
Organiser Zoe Gurr adds: “We are looking forward to a fantastic event and extend our thanks to the village and local businesses for their support, to Wilkins Kennedy for their generous sponsorship, to the White Hart for offering use of their facilities, and to all the organisers, Diane from Stockbridge Pre-school and Ben, Andrea and Philip from FOSPS. We have already had a great deal of interest from around the region and are hoping to raise as much money as possible for our two very good causes – we are already hoping to hold the event again next year!”
The Wilkins Kennedy Stockbridge 10K entry fee is £11.50 affiliated or £14.00 unaffiliated.
The 2K Fun Run entry fee is £6.50 for both affiliated and unaffiliated runners.
