WK Finn-Kelcey team raises over £1000 for the British Heart Foundation in London to Brighton bike ride 2010
A team of seven cyclists from WK Finn-Kelcey, a firm of leading chartered accountants and business advisers in Kent, has raised over £1000 for the British Heart Foundation by completing the annual London to Brighton bike ride.
The annual 54-mile ride, Europe’s largest charity bike event, took place on Sunday 20th June in pleasant weather conditions, and the team eagerly gathered at the Ashford office at 5 am to make their way to Clapham Common for the start at 7am.
The route is interspersed with three hills, the last being the famous Ditchling Beacon, which is the highest point in the county of East Sussex, rising to 248m or 814 ft in just over a mile.
The entire team from the Ashford office conquered the beacon, including Kevin Thornby, Paul Fisher, Paul Nixon, Lauren Hatcher, Caroline Lawlor, Rebecca Moore and Laura Clayton, and the team reached the finish on the Brighton seafront just after 5pm.
Kevin Thornby, Tax Manager at the WK Finn-Kelcey office, says, “ We had a really enjoyable day and were in great spirits for the bike ride. The team is thrilled to have raised over £1000 again this year for the British Heart Foundation and would like to thank all our friends and colleagues for their generous donations.”
