Martyn joined Wilkins Kennedy as partner in 2011, and is a tax specialist working with SMEs, fully listed and AIM listed companies, owner managed businesses and family office aspects and issues.
He offers a wealth of commercial and transactional-based experience having worked within and advising the SME business and property sectors for many years. His work included tax and commercial solutions, corporate restructuring, exit strategies, property tax planning, inward investment for non-resident entities together with tax aspects of corporate insolvencies.
Martyn qualified in 1987 in a west end firm of chartered accountants, specialising in general tax consultancy.
In 1989 he joined the tax consultancy department of Casson Beckman, which merged with Baker Tilly. Martyn was made Tax Partner at Baker Tilly in 1997 and left after 11 years to become acting CFO of a private group of property companies in North London; having dealt with the refinance of a large demerged business during the ‘banking crisis’ and involvement in supporting an ‘arbitration process’.
Martyn is married with six children, enjoys cycling as a hobby and spends his spare time with his family and studying Talmudic law. As a former under 11’s football team manager, he likes to support and encourage his two younger sons to enjoy playing football; he supports QPR!
