Oil & Gas
Background
In 1998, several companies came to the Falklands on oil exploratory
missions, but at the time oil prices were low and it was deemed
uneconomic to pursue extraction.
In February 2010 six wells were
spudded, and four main companies listed on the London AIM market have
all drilled – FOGL, Rockhopper, Desire and Borders & Southern along
with a fifth later on – Argos Resources, which is due to have activity
later in 2012.
