Choosing an Adviser
Choosing the right advisers can make the difference between facing the challenges alone or with the support of a team which has been there before, can help you through the challenges and appreciate the thrill of your successes. We understand that it’s personal and are committed to ensuring we deliver the support you need.
When selecting an accountant, consider the following:
- Size: do you need regular one to one contact and will a larger or smaller firm best suit your needs?
- Complexity: do you need a firm just to prepare a tax return and year end financial statements, or do you need further services such as tax and financial planning advice, help with business planning, employee benefit planning?
- Vision: develop a big picture of your needs and ambitions. Will your accountant understand it? Will he or she be able to help you to achieve your dream?
- Reputation: talk to your business contacts. Are they happy with their own accountant? Does he or she contact them throughout the year with proactive advice and recommendations?
- Trust: your accountant may be as important to you as a Financial Director. Would you trust him or her as you would a fellow Director?
- Comfort: would you feel happy talking to your accountant about any business issue?
- Fees: do you understand fully your accountant's fee structure and billing process?
