Stamp Duty Land Tax
Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) is a tax paid by the purchaser on most residential and commercial land transactions. It is a self assessment regime, where the purchaser of the property needs to file a “land transaction return” and pay the SDLT within 30 days of completion. The rules regarding leases in particular are complex.
We offer advice to intending purchasers or tenants at all stages of a purchase, bringing our tax expertise and understanding of the property sector to bear.
