Trainee Insolvency Administrator

Job Purpose

The main purpose of this role is to assist with a small caseload, both corporate and personal, from inception through to closure, working closely with management.


Cases include:

  • Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidation
  • Members’ Voluntary Liquidation
  • Compulsory Liquidation
  • Bankruptcy
  • Administration (trading and non-trading)
  • Company voluntary arrangements and Individual Voluntary Arrangements

Key responsibilities of the role include:-

  • Managing case delivery including pre-appointment, case progression and closure
  • Ensuring all aspects of casework are completed in a timely manner and to a good standard
  • Ensuring all statutory deadlines are met
  • Preparation of all statutory documentation including reports
  • Preparing for and attending creditors meetings
  • Assisting with asset realisations
  • Dealing with creditor claims
  • Respond promptly to formal correspondence
  • Assisting directors, shareholders, creditors and other stakeholders with general queries
  • Providing progress updates to management
  • Maintaining case diaries and case set-up
  • General ad hoc administration as and when required

Training and development opportunities will be provided to allow you to progress into a more senior role.


Person Specification

  • Previous insolvency experience desirable but not essential
  • Studying towards AAT or a similar qualification desirable but not essential (support will be provided if the candidate wishes to undertake such study)
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a part of a team
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
