News & Press / WK Press Releases | Wilkins Kennedy LLP

A local accountancy firm has renewed their corporate partnership with Surrey Hills Enterprises for a further three years – a programme which seeks to support and grow businesses in the area.

Accountants, Wilkins Kennedy’s Guildford office, which act for a number of businesses in Surrey, was a corporate sponsor of Surrey Hills Enterprises from 2015-2018. Following an extremely successful term, Wilkins Kennedy has renewed their sponsorship and will continue to support Surrey Hills Enterprises for a further three years until 2021.

Surrey Hills Enterprises’ members are part of a growing community of local businesses that come together to support one another as well as to promote and protect the beautiful Surrey Hills. Membership is awarded to organisations, businesses or charities operating within the Surrey Hills area.

Members have help to reach out to a wider audience of businesses in the area, as well as provide workshops, seminars and events such as Surrey’s Rural Economy Conference, Surrey Hills Wood Fair and local produce fairs. Those members meeting additional criteria are also awarded the Trade Mark Surrey Hills, recently launched with the support of the Rt Hon Michael Gove, Secretary of State for the Environment, Food & Rural Affairs. It is a mark of local provenance and quality which provides a distinctive marketing banner and which inspires local people to support local businesses.

Wendy Varcoe MBE, Executive Director at Surrey Hills Enterprises, said: “A number of our events and projects rely on Surrey Hills Enterprises’ Corporate Partner programme. To have the support of businesses like Wilkins Kennedy means that we can continue to do the work we do in and around the business community.”

Ken Young, Managing Partner at Wilkins Kennedy’s Guildford office, said: “The past three years of our corporate partnership have proven to be extremely fruitful, both for us and for Surrey Hills Enterprises. We have worked closely with the organisation over this period and seen the fantastic work they do locally. As a firm, we pride ourselves on supporting a number of local business initiatives and we were pleased to renew our partnership with Surrey Hills Enterprises. We look forward to working with Wendy and the team for the next three years, and beyond.”
