UK arm of an international sportswear company is searching for a new buyer after entering administration

The global head office of SKINS, a company that designs and manufactures compression sportswear for athletes and sports enthusiasts, has entered a formal insolvency procedure in Switzerland.

Over 160 SKINS products are sold in 31 countries worldwide with over 100,000 items being manufactured each month.

Its UK company, SKINS Services Limited, which trades in the UK and France can’t continue to sell products after the director appointed joint administrators Nicholas Parsk and Louise Brittain of Wilkins Kennedy on 15 February 2019.

The UK business, based at Barberry Court Parkway, Centrum 100, Burton, Staffordshire, had 9 employees based in the UK and France.

Nicholas Parsk from Wilkins Kennedy – which has 18 offices throughout the South East of England – said: “As a result of the winding-up of the parent company, the UK company was unable to continue trading and therefore, the director appointed Administrators to deal with the Company affairs.”

“At this stage, we are still gathering information to formulate our proposals to creditors. However, it has been necessary to make the Company’s employees redundant and we are working to support them and realise the assets of the Company.”

Wilkins Kennedy is part of the CogitalGroup – an international business services group with annual revenues in excess of £450m, employing around 6,000 people across 176 offices.
