Michelle heads the firm's academies group as well as charity and not-for-profit in the Kent region.
She has over 25 years’ experience in the accounting profession, having begun her career in a London-based firm, she joined Wilkins Kennedy as a partner in 2006.
Michelle has devoted her career to working with a range of academies, charities and not-for-profit organisations, providing audit and compliance advice as well as specialist guidance on governance, strategic and policy issues.
As head of the academies group, Michelle has been actively involved in the sector for many years. She has extensive experience of helping schools converting to academy status, and providing ongoing advice for those already converted. In more recent years, she has been helping schools to develop Multi-academy Trusts. She also provides governance training for governors and trustees.
Michelle’s many years in the sector have gained her numerous contacts with regulators and providers of services to academies and charities.
Michelle is a member of The Charity & Voluntary Sector Group of the ICAEW and the Charity Finance Group (CFG). She contributes to WK’s technical updates on matters affecting the sector and provides training courses on technical issues, both internally to staff and externally to the sector.
