Along with Santander, we're running a panel event with SMEs who have witnessed growth in recent years and local business experts who will share local plans to support business growth in the region.

There are numerous ways you can grow your business, and whether you decide that is through acquisition, organic growth, diversification or entering new markets, you will face decisions at every step of the way.  Some may be more challenging than others.

These are just some of the challenges that our panellists have faced. As some of the South Coast’s prominent business leaders, they are going to share their story with you and give you the opportunity to question, and learn, from their experiences. 

Panellists

Brymor - Founded in 1987 by Steve Morton and his wife Jan, the company has remained true to its initial vision and core values. Steve firmly believes people are the most important asset to his business. They have grown from strength to strength, with a reported annual turnover of £60 Million, and now employ over 140 members of staff, recognising talent within and helping staff to reach their full potential. In 2012, Steve appointed a new Managing Director to further enhance, and support, the growth aspirations of the business. Since then the business has continued to flourish, both operationally and financially, and is on course to achieve its vision of being a £100m turnover business by 2020. The ethos of Brymor has always been family orientated and Steve’s daughter joined the company in 1997 to train to become a surveyor/estimator. However, she soon found her ideal role in HR over 10 years ago. Her role has progressed with the company to become HR Director with the primary focus of striving for continuous improvement across the business. Steve and Carmen will provide insight into how they have achieved their success and what the next steps are for the business.

Priavo Security - a Security and Travel Risk Management company based in the Adur and Worthing area, serving a global clientele through bespoke journey management and security services for events, music tours and corporate roadshows. Co-founders, Pete and Celine Murphy, set the business up in 2012 and have grown their UK business with offices in Worthing, London and a wide network of security partners across the globe. Priavo carry out Executive Protection for private individuals, families, corporates and celebrities ensuring the safety of their clients at home, at work or travelling to any location where it is perceived there is a risk. The team have recently launched locate, a traveler safety platform, developed to reduce travel risk by monitoring employees, issuing mass communications and managing emerging incidents.

Dianne Lambdin, a HR Specialist from The Sussex HR Hub, supports businesses across Sussex, Hampshire and Surrey that either don't have their own HR department or who need additional support and expertise on particular issues. Dianne understands the issues that businesses face today in recruiting, rewarding and retaining talent. She’ll share her expertise to help you avoid the pitfalls of how a growing business with great potential can fail because they can’t attract and keep the right people. Dianne is a Director of the Chichester Chamber of Commerce.
